Inked: Your show, dev, premieres on May 23rd at 11/10c on MTV, tell us about it!
Dev: it goes into detail of what I’m really going through as an ‘up and coming artist’. I work really hard everyday. On top of that I’m having a baby who is born with a birth condition and continues to have multiple surgeries. Im also engaged to a pro skate boarder, oh yeah and I’m only 22. I’m trying to be a boss. Filming was wack only because I was 8 months pregnant for the most of it, haha, so I wasn’t feeling cameras in my face, but I’m getting to share my story, so it’s awesome!
Inked: The hour long premiere is going to talk about your daughter Emilia who was born with a condition called gastroschisis - is there a reason you chose to speak about it on the show? Can you tell us a little about the condition and your daughter?

Debra Macki (Kiss 108fm):Congratulations on your new baby! Was it hard to keep your style going towards the end of your pregnancy especially while you were performing? How did you do it?
DEV: Luckily I was working while I was pregnant so I had the inspiration to actually put makeup on and swag out my outfits. I work a lot with this women’s line called Hells Bells so while I was pregnant they were my best friends.
DM: Do you have any pointers for moms-to-be who don’t want to part with their style during maternity?
DEV: I actually didn’t spend one day in a maternity store. I went to American Apparel and bought cute leggings and put them with boys large t-shirts and t-shirt dresses.
DM: Where do you get inspiration for your look?
DEV: My mom and my sister. My sister makes her own clothes. Living in downtown LA is really awesome with the shops and the art. As cliche as it sounds, the city life is so inspiring.
DM: It’s hard finding shoes that are on trend and comfortable. Have you found any designers that you can wear while performing that are both?
DEV: Jeffrey Campbell. I have them on now and wear his wedges a lot. They’re good on stage and are really fierce. If I want to be super comfortable I’ll just wear Chucks.

“On May 23rd, at 11 PM, MTV is running an hour long special on my fiance which features a look into her professional career and personal life. As many of you, we welcomed our daughter, Emilia into the world in December. What many dont know is that she was born with a condition called gastroschisis. Treatment for the condition called for extensive surgical procedures along with very long recovery process in the UCLA NICU. The special gives an in depth look at how our family handled this trying time alongside the ups and downs of Devin’s music career. Words can’t explain how proud I am of both Devin’s and Emilia’s perseverance, and I hope the segment conveys how strong these two ladies were throughout everything. ” -JIMMY
